ULI KUSCH Unable To Perform With ROB ROCK At PROGPOWER; Replacement Announced
September 6, 2008Drummer Uli Kusch (MASTERPLAN, HELLOWEEN) is unable to join singer Rob Rock (ex-IMPELLITTERI, DRIVER, JOSHUA) for his upcoming appearance at the ProgPower USA IX festival and warm-up shows in Florida "due to unforeseen circumstances and logistics," according to a posting on Rock's web site. Kusch's replacement will be none other than Tracy Shell, Rob Rock's drummer during the "Rage of Creation" period (2000 to 2003).
Rock's September 27, 2008 performance at the ProgPower USA IX festival at Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia will be recorded/filmed for a live CD/DVD release, to be issued sometime in 2009 via AFM Records.
This highly anticipated DVD will be Rob's first official DVD release since the "voice of melodic metal" began his 20-year singing career. The DVD will also include bonus interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and selections from current and past bands, tours, rehearsals and concert footage that has been previously unreleased. This is also Rob's first-ever live CD and will feature song performances from his four acclaimed solo albums and other selections from his past studio recordings.
Rob's band for the ProgPower concert will consist of the following:
Tracy Shell - Drums
CJ Grimmark (NARNIA) - Guitar
Andreas Olsson Passmark (DIVINEFIRE, NARNIA) - Bass
Peter Halgren - Guitar
Rob Rock - Vocals
There will be two warm-up shows in Central Florida — one at The Haven in Orlando on Wednesday, September 24 (with LUNA DEMENTIA, VIO7 and DIRRTY HAIRY),and one at Bourbon Street in Tampa/St. Petersburg on Thursday, September 25 (with ANDROMEDA and VIO7).
ROB ROCK's latest solo album, "Garden of Chaos", was released last September through AFM Records. The CD was produced by ROB ROCK guitarist Carl-Johan Grimmark and co-produced by Roy Z (JUDAS PRIEST, BRUCE DICKINSON, HALFORD) and Rob Rock. Rob wrote seven of the 11 tracks with longtime partner Roy Z, and the other tracks were co-written by Rob with Gus G. (FIREWIND), Carl-Johan Grimmark, Bob Rossi, and Liza Rock. The album was mixed and mastered at Hansen Studios in Denmark by Jacob Hansen.
